CNC Operator - OSO - 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm - 2:00 amDesired Traits – Safety Conscience, Mechanically Inclined, Strong Math Skills, AustereWhat is a CNC Operator?The CNC Machinist operates and setup computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts, loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. Adjustment of the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product. Review the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production. Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.In this role, you will:Read production orders, gauges, interpret blueprints and material specificationsTranslate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for productionRegularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring and sawingInspect with the appropriate gauging technique and keep defective material report currentPerform traceability marking and documentationKeep appropriate documents current and accurateOperation of overhead crane and forkliftBasic equipment and tooling upkeep, shop housekeeping and chip disposalMaintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow safety proceduresAssists in other work areas to perform fabricationPerform other duties as assignedRequired and Preferred Experience:Prior experience as a CNC Operator or a completion of a CNC program from a technical or trade schoolStrong math skills, including decimals and fractionExtensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operationMechanically inclined with basic machinery and tooling knowledgeAbility to read, write and communicate wellInterpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduresLimited computer knowledgeWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Regularly required to talk or hear, frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and armsFrequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or lessExposure to fumes or airborne particles, vibration, and moving mechanical partsNoise level in the shop may be loud Education:High School diploma or equivalent requiredWe pride ourselves in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all employees.
