Based in Dixon, CA, WGE is dedicated to supporting development and infrastructure enhancement for a better future.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an Underground Estimator, located in Dixon, CA. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, assessing resources, and coordinating with the team to ensure accurate and competitive project bids. Additional duties include reviewing project specifications, identifying cost variables, and building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.Pay: DOEQualificationsAbility to perform pre-construction, estimating and bidding functions on projectsSuccessfully work with estimating team in preparing estimates and final bid pricingBid projects successfully with a profitable capture ratio in excess of 20%Produce accurate conceptual estimatesPresent estimates to clients and project teams with a high level of confidenceAbility to work in a collaborative environment with clients, subcontractors and design teamsReview architectural and structural drawings, specifications, schedules, contract documents, proposal drawings, structural calculations, and other information prepared by internal and outside sources for compliance with the bidding documents.Ability to build new and maintain existing subcontractor and supplier relationships to obtain competitive advantagesKnowledge and understanding of unit costsPrepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates and trend studies for self-perform and subcontractor scopesUnderstanding of contracts, drawings and specificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of the factors that impact construction costs and subcontractor riskPost estimate and job buyout knowledge management including maintenance of unit cost database for use in all future estimates.Collaborate and drive departmental process improvementsStrong conceptual estimating skills5 years construction estimating experienceComputer literate and experience with complex spreadsheets, database programs and on-screen take off programsKnowledge of local subcontractor community and all building construction tradesSelf-motivated, dynamic team player
