Your clinical experience will help drive the technology and care model innovations we build as we continue to enhance the patient experience and instill joy in the practice of medicine.The Advanced Practice Provider is responsible for providing direct patient care to all clients within an urgent care setting. This is a professional level position working under limited direction yet in coordination with a Lead APP and Medical Director. Typical work scenarios require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, good judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills.ResponsibilitiesPerforms and provides treatments for minor acute illness, patient examinations, making initial assessment, initiating treatment and referring to appropriate center of care when applicable.Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait timesPerform digital blocks and local anesthesia.Perform minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, l&D, foreign body removalReview and manage daily tasks, patient callbacks, and lab results, while on shiftProvide oversight and lead day to day operations, possibly as sole provider and serve as expert by consulting, coaching and trainingPerform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts.Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid's elbow reductionsApply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliancesPerforms therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizationsInstructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information and promoting wellness and health maintenance.Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. May be required to supervise ancillary staff.Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions and refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care options as appropriate.Provides DOT, Pre-employment, and school/sports exams to appropriate clienteleDemonstrates good organizational skills in coordinating services with co-workers and other departments/services. Join us and help change the future of healthcare for the better.Experience/Skill SetTwo years’ experience as a PA/NP in an Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine setting preferredKnowledge of urgent care medical specialty requiredExcellent written and verbal communication requiredExceptional customer service and phone etiquette requiredAbility to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow requiredAbility to project a positive, warm, friendly and healing attitude to the patients of the community is requiredExperience with Epic preferredAbility to effectively communicate in Spanish preferredEducationMaster’s degree, Physician Assistant or Master of Science in Nursing required - Exception Physician Assistants’ or Nurse Practitioners’ qualified or certified in California or any other state prior to January 1, 2008.PAs are require to have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant programLicensureMust be currently licensed in California as a Physician Assistant or Nurse PractitionerCertification from either ANCC or AANP as a Family Nurse PractitionerCurrent DEA Registration requiredDOT certification to be completed within one month of startAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification requiredAbout UsWe are on a mission to bring modern Urgent Care to Monterey County.
