BME is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician to join our growing team. This role is vital to supporting our expanding customer base by delivering exceptional service, technical precision, and dependable performance. The Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician is responsible for installing, programming, commissioning, and servicing HVAC and building automation control systems. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, electricians, and customers to ensure systems operate reliably, efficiently, and according to design specifications.

Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
Install and terminate BAS control panels, controllers, sensors, and field devices
Perform point-to-point checkout, loop tuning, and functional testing
Commission HVAC systems including AHUs, RTUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers, and exhaust systems
Programming & Graphics
Program controllers using manufacturer-specific platforms (Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell, Distech, Carrier, etc.)
Develop, modify, and troubleshoot control sequences
Create and update graphics, trends, alarms, and schedules
Service & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve control system, network, and field device issues
Support service calls, warranty work, and retrofits
Provide remote and on-site technical support
Networking & Integration
Configure and troubleshoot BACnet (IP & MSTP), Modbus, and LonWorks networks
Assist with third-party system integrations and IP networking
Documentation & Communication
Update as-built drawings, point lists, backups, and sequence documentation
Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
Provide end-user training
Requirements
2+ years of experience in BAS or HVAC controls
Understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
Experience with at least one major BAS platform
Ability to read electrical and control drawings
Basic networking knowledge
Valid driver's license
Ability to work on ladders and lifts
Lift up to 50 lbs.
Occasional after-hours or weekend work
Preferred Qualifications
Niagara N4 Certification
Experience with multiple BAS manufacturers
RS-485 troubleshooting experience
Healthcare or industrial facility experience
Salary Range: $30/h - $48/h
