All applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of ITAR, as defined: a U.S. Citizen, a lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.Job Summary:The Sr. Quality Engineer works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements. Must have knowledge and experience working with AS9145 and ISO.Essential Functions:Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and Customers) to ensure product quality and continuous improvement.Monitor and analyze production data, quality control systems, and critical points in the value stream to identify and address quality issues.Lead root cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and drive qualification of product and process changes to maintain high-quality standards.Support audits, failure analysis, and reliability testing, while producing reports on nonconformance, quality trends, and root cause analyses.Review and approve quality-related document changes (ECOs, MCOs, deviations) and implement continuous improvement strategies using data-driven methods.Minimum Qualifications:Experience: knowledge/experience; 5 - 8+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace/Defense or manufacturing environment. Must have strong experience with APQPKnowledge: Knows and applies advanced concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program; Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and proceduresSkills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish goals based on experience and judgment; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals; Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointEducation/Certification: BA or BS degree in Quality, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Experience with AS9145Proficiency in Lean Principles and Implementation ToolsEducational background in Structured Problem Solving, 5S, Mistake-Proofing and process capability toolsFamiliarity with MinitabASQC Quality Engineer CertificationWorking Conditions:Standard office environmentWork requires substantial visual concentration on detailWorking conditions are normal for a manufacturing environmentManufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPEMay be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumesStanding: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskSitting: 90% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work taskLifting (in pounds): up to 25 poundsPushing (in pounds): up to 25 poundsMental/Visual: use of computer, microscopeWorkspace (line, cube, etc.): cubicle/desk/work cellEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
