Summer Field Trip Instructor (Lead) – School Age Program | High Altitude Kids
Job Description
High Altitude Kids is hiring a confident, energetic Summer Field Trip Leader to guide our school-age children on daily adventures.
This is a leadership role—you will be the primary adult responsible for managing and engaging a group of children on field trips Monday–Thursday (you will work with other teachers on your team).
We are looking for someone who can confidently lead a group while making the day genuinely fun, organized, and positive.
This is not a passive supervision role—you’ll be actively guiding the experience from start to finish.
What You’ll Do
Lead daily field trips with children (approx. ages 5–10)
Keep the group safe, together, and engaged in a variety of settings
Create a fun, positive group dynamic throughout the day
Set clear expectations and maintain strong, respectful boundaries
Manage transitions, behavior, and overall flow of the day
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience working with children (camps, teaching, childcare, coaching, etc.)
Confident group management skills
High energy, positive attitude, and natural leadership
Ability to be both fun AND structured
Responsible, organized, and dependable
This Role is NOT a Fit If You:
Prefer passive supervision over leading and engaging
Feel uncomfortable managing groups independently in public settings
Struggle to stay organized or take initiative

Can walk into a park, museum, or outing and confidently lead a group of kids
Naturally create fun, connection, and engagement
Are steady, reliable, and take ownership of your role
