Senior Control Systems Engineer

Description:APCO has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Control Systems Engineer in our control and automation consulting firm and its related businesses. We are looking for candidates who are self-driven, problem solvers, and able to work effectively with others. The successful candidate will be able to support the needs of our clients and deliver premier control system projects that may incorporate any combination of system design, PLC programming, HMI programming, telemetry, networking, and instrumentation.   Job Functions:Setup and configure SCADA software and hardwareProvide testing, commissioning, and startup services for control and automation systems (including instrumentation, communications, control panels, PLCs, and HMI) in a variety of industriesEngineer SCADA-related solutions to address customer needs and concerns.Modify PLC and HMI applications in the fieldTroubleshoot software related issues remotely and in the fieldTroubleshoot hardware related issues including: panel wiring, VFD/motor control, telemetry, monitoring instrumentationEnsure that delivered projects meet provided client specificationsCoordinate effectively with other staff members on larger projectsSupport less experienced employees in their developmentDocument project progressDevelop and implement engineering standards according to client needsProvide training to clients about delivered systemsWillingness to travel as requiredDesirable Skills and Experience: ·        5+ years of experience with SCADA or MES integration and programming preferred·        Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills·        Proficiency in HMI programming·        Proficiency in PLC programming·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred (can be waived with adequate relevant experience)  Compensation: ·        Annual salary and bonus commensurate with experience and background·        Vacation, paid holidays and class leading benefits package About APCO APCO History APCO is a Utah-based process control and optimization company that does work across several industries including oil and gas, water and wastewater, manufacturing, chemical, and mining.
