Superintendent - Multi-Family
Construction SuperintendentPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for multi-family, mixed-use, and higher education projects. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing daily field activities, ensuring quality construction of stick-frame and other assemblies, maintaining safety and schedule adherence, coordinating subcontractors and trades, and communicating effectively with project management and owners to deliver projects on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day jobsite operations for multi-family, mixed-use, apartment, and higher education projects, with emphasis on stick-frame construction.Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and onsite labor to ensure work is performed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules; ensure work is executed per plans and change orders are conveyed and implemented.Maintain project schedules, update progress reports, and proactively identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks.Enforce site safety programs, conduct safety meetings and inspections, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.Perform quality control inspections, address deficiencies promptly, and coordinate corrective actions with trades and project management.Manage material deliveries and onsite logistics to minimize downtime and reduce waste or damage.Coordinate inspections and approvals with local building officials, third-party inspectors, and owner representatives.Communicate regularly with project managers, superintendents on other phases, owners, and design teams to align expectations and resolve issues.Mentor and develop field staff, provide performance feedback, and promote a collaborative, solution-oriented jobsite culture.Qualifications5+ years as a Superintendent or similar onsite leadership role, with direct experience in multi-family, stick-frame, and apartment construction.Experience on mixed-use and higher education projects preferred.Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, means and methods for stick-frame construction, materials, and building systems.Proven ability to manage schedules, read and interpret drawings, and coordinate multiple trades concurrently.Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety, with OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; ability to work with owners, architects, inspectors, and subcontractors.Proficient with construction management software, scheduling tools, and mobile/site documentation practices.Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as required.Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, CPR/First Aid) and a high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or industry certifications a plus.BenefitsVacation/PTOMedicalDentalVision401k
