Material Handler

*Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise in warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and materials handling will ensure smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards such as OSHA regulations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team focused on operational excellence and timely delivery. *Duties* * Load and unload shipments using appropriate heavy equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times. * Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and track inventory items. * Perform order picking tasks with precision using pickers or manual methods to fulfill customer orders efficiently. * Handle materials manually or with heavy equipment for storage or transfer within the warehouse, adhering to OSHA safety standards. * Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. * Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on forklifts, cranes, or other machinery. * Support inventory control by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies. * Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize space utilization and workflow processes. * Ensure compliance with safety regulations during all handling activities to prevent accidents or injuries. * Assist in loading trucks for delivery or transfer to construction sites when necessary. *Experience* * Proven experience in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, or materials handling roles. * Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and load & unload machinery. * Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for inventory tracking. * Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to manual handling and heavy equipment operation. * Previous experience in construction environments or with construction materials is advantageous. * Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. * Experience in warehouse supervision or team leadership is a plus. * Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques. * Knowledge of OSHA regulations ensures a safe working environment for all team members.
