CNC Machining trainee
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated CNC Machining Trainee to join our manufacturing facility. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in CNC machining, programming, and fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in manufacturing technology, mechanical systems, and precision machining. We have Cincinnati Milacron CNC machines with conversational and G code programming.
Duties
Assist with setup and operation of CNC milling machine and CNC lathes
Learn to program CNC machines using G-code or CAM with guidance from owner
Learn to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection and measurement accuracy
Support materials handling tasks including forklift operation and proper storage of raw materials and finished products
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following factory safety protocols
Support quality control processes by inspecting parts and ensuring adherence to specifications
Qualifications
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes or factory experience preferred but not required
Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T, CAD software (SolidWorks), and CAM programming is a plus
Mechanical knowledge related to machining tools such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes
Experience with precision measuring instruments including calipers and micrometers is beneficial
Ability to learn quickly and follow detailed instructions accurately
Strong math skills including basic calculations relevant to machining tolerances and measurements
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with safety compliance at all times
This is a good position for a student at OCC or MCC who needs hands on machining experience. Candidates eager to develop technical skills in CNC programming, machining operations, fabrication, and quality control are encouraged to apply.
