Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Seattle, Washington.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: TelemetryDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/01/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 1, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Unit position requiring a minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience, surgical tele background, and night shift availability.DetailsSurgical Cardiac Telemetry Unit in a hospital settingPatient population includes myocardial infarction (rule-out MI), primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab (with or without interventions), stroke patients with cardiac involvement, and specialized structural heart patients (VAD, TAVR, etc.)Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with a possible ratio of 1:5 at midnightProcedures and skills utilized include: breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, LVAD management, open heart post-op care (24–28 hours), and telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation and managementEMR: Epic (required)Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30Every other weekend requiredFloating required to like units within the state; travelers must be flexibleRequirementsActive WA RN license or valid compact RN license currently in handCurrent certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience requiredSurgical telemetry experience required, including open heart surgery and vascular (groin/radial band management)Strong IV skills requiredExperience with VAD and TAVR is a plusEpic EMR experience requiredMinimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/settingSSN and DOB required for considerationAdditional InformationFirst-time travelers will not be considered for this positionFormer permanent staff at any Swedish facility must have been separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler, and must reside more than 50 miles from the facilityFormer permanent staff from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible after a 3-month separationMinimal RTO is strongly preferred; excessive RTO requests may significantly impact candidacyRTO or scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of submission, as post-offer requests may be deniedAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-702724.
