You’ll be joining a stable, growing firm known for its collaborative culture, technical depth, and meaningful impact on the region’s infrastructure.What You’ll DoAs a key member of our bridge engineering team, you will:Serve as a Technical Lead and/or Project Manager on a diverse portfolio of bridge and transportation projectsLead projects from planning and design through construction support and closeout, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget goals are metAct as a primary client-facing representative, leading meetings and coordinating with agencies and public stakeholdersDevelop project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and technical specificationsCollaborate closely with the team to resolve technical and project-related challengesMentor, manage, and develop engineers and technicians, helping build the next generation of leadersReview and approve plans, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and permitting requirementsTake an active role in business development, proposals, and technical write-upsHelp shape project delivery strategies and contribute to continuous improvement within the practiceRequired QualificationsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) license in VirginiaMinimum of 8 years of experience in structural design for highway bridgesStrong background in highway, pedestrian bridge structures and retaining wallsExperience with structural analysis and bridge design softwareFamiliarity with VDOT standards, processes, and project deliveryExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, and related structural design codesDesign experience across multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, including staged construction analysisPrior experience working directly with VDOT or Virginia localitiesStrong capabilities in structural analysis, load rating, and multidisciplinary coordinationNBIS certification and bridge inspection experience (a plus, not required)Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenBridge DesignerWhat You’ll GainLeadership visibility on major transportation projectsA collaborative environment that values technical excellence and professional growthOpportunities to mentor others and shape project outcomesLong‑term career development within a respected, employee‑focused firmIf you’re passionate about bridge engineering and ready to take the next step in your career, STV offers platforms, projects, and people to help you thrive.Compensation Range$124,726.29 - $142,544.33STV offers the following benefits Health insurance, including an option with a Health Savings Account Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare, Dependent Care and Transit and Parking where applicable) Disability insurance Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment 401(k) Plan Retirement Counseling Employee Assistance Program Paid Time Off (starting at 16 days) Paid Holidays (9 days) Back-Up Dependent Care (up to 10 days per year) Parental Leave (up to 80 hours) Continuing Education Program Professional Licensure and Society MembershipsSTV is committed to paying all of its employees in a fair, equitable, and transparent manner.
