Casualty Claims Examiner ($2,500 Sign-On)

Location: Richardson, TX Salary range: $69,700–$105,000 (commensurate with experience and location) Sign-On Bonus: $2,500 Work schedule / hybrid structure: Core hours Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM CST. 3 days in-office per week. Flexibility may be needed for early/late shifts. Orientation period (Training & Transition 6 months): Monday–Friday, 8:00AM–4:30PM CST; up to 4 days in-office per week until fully oriented. Position: Casualty Claims Examiner. Deliver world-class service to clients through investigation, coverage determination, liability assessment, and bodily injury claim resolution. Job Requirements Minimum five (5) years of Bodily Injury claims handling experience Prior private passenger automotive liability claims experience Active adjuster license at time of hire Outstanding customer service and professional communication skills (oral & written) Understanding and compliance with Department of Insurance Guidelines and Requirements Exceptional negotiating skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs Highly organized and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Litigation handling experience preferred but not required Demonstrated good judgment Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide customer service to policyholders and prospective policyholders, communicating and guiding them through the claims process Ensure coverage for each loss and all policy provisions before processing payments Investigate all aspects of the claim to determine liability percentage and legal responsibility Identify and evaluate claims indicators of fraud and appropriately elevate findings Use provided claims tools to evaluate liability and extent of damages Evaluate damages in accordance with investigative findings and establish value to pay only what is owed Negotiate claim settlements with insureds, claimants, and/or attorneys from letter of representation through settlement or verdict Authorize negotiated payment for established damages within designated authority Submit authority requests for evaluations that exceed personal authority Ensure all compliance requirements are met in a timely and professional manner and per guidelines Adjust reserves adequately on all new and existing claims Participate as an active member of claims forums as required Communicate findings to claims management team as needed for high exposure or unusual loss findings Perform other duties as assigned Benefits Comprehensive Total Rewards program with personalized coverage for you and your family's overall well-being Market-competitive compensation, 401(k) savings plan with 6% match, performance and recognition-based incentives, tuition assistance Additional benefits including mental health care, fertility, and adoption assistance Workplace flexibility via our GEICO Flex program, allowing work from anywhere in the US for up to four weeks per year Equal Employment Opportunity & Disability Accommodations GEICO is an equal-employment-opportunity employer.
