This position offers a unique opportunity to help design and implement a comprehensive, schoolwide health program across all grade levels.Required QualificationsValid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Health (MA) endorsementStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailConsistent, reliable attendanceAbility to accept and apply feedback to improve performanceCommitment to the school's mission, goals, and valuesPrimary ResponsibilitiesLead the development and implementation of FCCA's K-12 health curriculum, aligned to the Michigan Health Education StandardsCollaborate with instructional staff to establish a cohesive, vertically aligned health program across grade levelsTeach health elective courses at the middle school level, engaging students in relevant, standards-based health contentSupport K-5 classroom teachers in integrating the Michigan Model for HealthTM into daily instructionProvide resources, coaching, and guidance to elementary staff to ensure effective and consistent implementationPromote student wellness by teaching topics such as physical health, mental health, nutrition, and decision-making skillsBuild a positive classroom culture that encourages student engagementDevelop strong relationships with students, families, and staffModel professionalism, collaboration, and ethical conduct at all timesCharacteristics of Successful CandidatesPassion for health education and student wellness across all grade levelsExperience with and implement the Michigan Model for HealthTMStrong collaboration skills and ability to work across grade bands (K-12)Ability to take initiative and contribute to program developmentExcellent communication skills (both oral and written)Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growthParticipate in school initiatives, staff development, and curriculum planningSalary & BenefitsSalary is determined by the FCCA matrix.
