Procurement Manager – Manufacturing IndustryBerks County, PA (on-site)The Procurement Manager opportunity is with a multi-billion dollar manufacturer with consistent growth, great company culture, and career development. This role will be responsible for systematic evaluations of commodities, spend, and suppliers in order to reduce risk and provide favorable value throughout the organization. Candidates should have a Bachelors degree and 5+ years of procurement/purchasing experience with a large organization.Job Responsibilities:Develop and implement purchasing strategiesManaging daily procurement department activities, supervise staff, and allocate assignmentsManage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, process, timelines, etc.Coordinating with inventory control to determine and management inventory requirementsEnsuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specificationsProject Management and continuous improvement of purchasing systems and processes; removes non-value added and manual tasks to achieve optimal performanceEmployee training on purchasing process and how to use the purchasing systemNegotiates advantageous pricing, terms, warranties, delivery and handling obligations, and penalties for late deliveryMRP System updated regarding order status, pricing, lead-times, delivery coordination, etc.Coordinates with Supplier development and quality to achieve cost of quality goals and reimbursement successCommodity Management support to achieve departmental goals including Supplier selection, RFP's, RFQ's for team evaluationGlobal risk management identification and research that could impact the supply, delivery, and customer demandMonitors and analyzes supplier performance, developing and implementing action plans to improve as neededUnderstand current industry and government regulations governing sustainabilityReviews and evaluates pricing changes for company impactParticipate on new product teams as required, coordinating supplier pre-approvals, quotes, and new product entry into the MRP systemManage the processing of invoices, packing lists and other order history documentsManage and trend base material Price Indices for various materials.Audits and pre-qualifies vendors in conjunction with the Supplier Quality group for company compliance with diversity goals, cGMP and ISO and other certification requirementsDevelops departmental KPI's to ensure process control and continuous improvementSupervisory responsibilities including:In conjunction with Director of Procurement, hires and manages Procurement staff as assignedAdministers everyday activities of purchasing staff and provide training to staff to ensure compliance to cGMPConducts performance evaluation conversations and coachingEnsures compliance to all purchasing policiesAnalyze all vendor performance to improve purchasing processDevelops and maintains professional relationships with suppliers and prepare reports for purchasing department and provide effective interface with all departmentsMonitors all purchasing activities and design various cost-effective methods according to demandsManages supplier contractsSupervises audit activities for departmental compliance with cGMP, ISO9001, IATF 16949 and all other certification requirements.Performs other duties as required by ManagementExperience and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain/ Business/ Engineering or related field; equivalent level of education, training and experience may be considered5+ years of experience at a supervisory, management, or senior professional level role with emphasis on purchasing, procurement, or materials managementBroad knowledge and understanding of business costing, economics, and commercial awarenessAbility to read and interpret drawings, material specifications, pricing indices, etc.Strong supervisory and leadership skills; builds positive working relationships with staff; can effectively lead, coach/mentor and develop clerical and support staff
