Test Technicians
Test Technician Express Employment Professionals is proud to partner with Forgent Power Solutions - the largest IPO in Minnesota's history! As a Test Technician, you'll set up, test, and troubleshoot electrical power equipment and control systems. This role includes supporting internal teams and customers by solving technical problems, helping to configure PLC/HMI control systems, reviewing drawings, and documenting test results. A background in electrical power and experience with most types of switchgear testing will be very important for this role. Schedule 1st Shift: Monday to Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm 2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday 3:45pm-2:15am Pay $27.50-$35.00/hour, based on experience Weekly paychecks every Friday Location and Work Environment Openings at both Champlin, MN and Dayton, MN facilities Clean working environment Option to wear one earbud on the production floor Responsibilities and Duties Set up, test, and troubleshoot low- and medium-voltage switchgear, ATSs, circuit breakers, protective relays, and control systems Provide technical support to manufacturing, engineering, and field service teams Troubleshoot and assist with configuration of PLC/HMI-based control systems Perform product testing and document results Assist with redline drawing updates Build and maintain strong working relationships with manufacturers and vendor representatives Develop and deliver training on client applications Support Factory Witness Testing with customers and suppliers Ensure equipment is safe, calibrated, and properly configured Stay current with product updates, equipment and technology, code changes, personal certifications, and training Skills and Qualifications Previous electrical equipment industry experience or education Background in electrical power (low- and medium-voltage) and experience with most types of switchgear testing Familiarity with 3-phase power systems (power distribution, AC/DC, Voltage Circuit Theory, generators, circuit protection, and practical troubleshooting) (preferred) Training in electrical theory and technologies Experience with or the ability to learn programming PLCs and HMIs Diesel Power generation-related controls and experience (including parallel systems) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for power, control, automation, engineering, and customer technical support Ability to work in a semi-autonomous environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent project management skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word Ability to sit, bend, or stand for extended periods of time High school diploma OR equivalent (required) Pre-employment background check (required) Pre-employment drug screen (required) Benefits and Perks Paid holidays Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Term life Short-term disability 401(k) Employee assistance program Referral program Growth opportunities Breakrooms with inside convenience store
