Job Description Exciting Opportunity for a GastroenterologistWe are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to become part of a well-established practice alongside a skilled team of healthcare professionals. Our Nurse Practitioners bring over a decade of experience in gastroenterology. The practice has been a staple in the community since 2012, led by Dr. Jesse Houghton, FACG. You will have a busy schedule from the start, and the call requirements are minimal.Compensation PackageOption 1: A base salary of $588,376* (50th percentile MGMA for recent graduates) with additional compensation based on experience, guaranteed for two years. This can transition to a wRVU production contract once targets are surpassed.Option 2: A base salary of $741,960* (75th percentile MGMA) guaranteed for the first year, followed by a switch to a wRVU production contract. There is potential to earn 90% or more of the MGMA salary with bonuses!*Note: A 5% reduction applies for those who are not yet board certified, with salary adjustments made upon certification.Contract DetailsVacation: 4 weeks plus holidays and sick days (totaling 29 PTO days). An additional 5 days are available when producing at the 75th percentile wRVUs.CME/Books & Journals: 5 days of PTO and up to $5,000 for continuing education.Deferred Compensation: 457b plan allowing deferral of compensation up to the IRS limit of $23,500 annually before taxes, with no matching.Retirement/Savings Plan: 403b plan permitting deferral of compensation up to the IRS limit of $23,500 for those under 50, and $31,000 for those over 50, with a dollar-for-dollar match up to 2% of base pay.Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 paid directly to the moving company.Malpractice Insurance: Coverage in a claims-made policy with limits of $2,000,000 per claim and $6,000,000 aggregate.Health Insurance: A small premium is deducted from the physician's paycheck.Liquidated Damages: A non-compete clause of 70 miles for 2 years or liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s salary.Bonus Opportunities: Attractive bonus incentives of up to 10% of salary.Medical School Loan Repayment: Up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).Sign-On Bonus: 15% of base salary, capped at $100,000, payable upon signing the contract and forgiven over 2-4 years based on the bonus amount.Residency/Fellowship Stipend: Up to $25,000 paid in quarterly installments during the final two years of training.Practice InformationLocation: Single practice site at our Gastroenterology Associates in Portsmouth, OH.Proximity: The hospital's endoscopy suite is just a two-minute walk from the office.Office Hours: Clinical office operates Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Staffing: The team includes 1 physician, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Service Line Manager, 1 Office Manager, 2 LPNs, and 3 Medical Office Assistants.Call Schedule: Light call requirements, with the ability to take calls from home and minimal need for in-person attendance for emergencies.Case Load: Expect to perform 10-15 procedures daily in the endoscopy suite and see around 30 patients in the clinical office.Equipment: Utilize Olympus scopes and video equipment, with all systems monitored. The practice is equipped with a new Provation Medical Documentation System that integrates with Olympus systems.Procedures: Focus on standard gastroenterology procedures.Additional InformationOur organization features a 248-bed facility serving a community of 250,000.
