Civil Estimator
The Civil Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for evaluating project plans, site visits, preparing project estimates utilizing estimating software for the public and private sectors.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Estimating multiple projects and meeting predetermined bid dates
Complete 2D and 3D project take-off using take-off software as required
Managing multiple projects and meeting contractual completion dates
Represent the company at the project site during construction, follow-up, and any concerns or challenges as they arise
Monthly invoicing
Cost tracking (comparing actual cost to estimated and adjusting as needed)
Buy out and issue purchase orders/subcontracts
Project submittals
Plans all construction operations and scheduling to ensure deadlines are met with the assistance of the General Superintendent, Project Coordinator and Project Manager’s Assistant.
Successfully identify safety concerns and exposures in adherence with company safety program
Collaborates with clients on a regular basis to maintain exceptional relationships
Always exhibits the highest standard of personal ethics
Performs related duties as assigned
Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally represent the company and maintain professional relationships
Team collaboration and unity
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management skills
Knowledge and experience in Paving, Concrete, Utilities and/or Civil Sitework
3 years minimum experience required estimating public and private civil projects
Problem solving and negotiating abilities
Estimating software experience like Bid 2 Win(B2W)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel up to meet the projects needs
Ability to work in an office environment
Must be able to make site visits that will require traversing uneven terrain at times
