Applicants should embrace this philosophy when applying.Teacher of Moderate DisabilitiesExperience in working with a wide range of disabilities and providing neuro-affirming principles.Collaborate with classroom teachers on curriculum delivery & assessmentAdapt learning material for student needsDesign and implement Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs)Collect, and analyze data to monitor student progress towards goals and inform instructional practicesCollaborate with parents and school staff to track students' progressAct as liaison for special education studentsEngage in ongoing consultations/collaboration with educators and related service providersCreate a collaborative and nurturing environment for students to learn and take risksStrong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, families, and staff.Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and their resource needs.Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment including Universally Designed Learning, and instructional strategiesEvaluate student progress which includes progress reports and creating Student Success Team meeting notes when necessaryAppropriate DESE licensure is requiredOther duties assigned by the building administrationPreferred Experience and Skills:Experience with Wit and Wisdom, Geodes, & FundationsTraining/Certification in Wilson, Orton Gillingham, or other structured literacy programs.
