Part-time: Extended School Year Special Education Summer Program 2026 Days: Monday - Thursday (no programming on Fridays) Dates: July 6 - August 6, 2026 Hours: 7:45 AM to 1:15 PM (5.5 hrs/day) **Will consider nurses job sharing this position to cover the days/time.*** Locations: Center Elementary School & Chelmsford High School The Extended Year special education summer program Nurse will provide first aid to students and staff, including, administering medications, performing ordered treatments, caring for illness and documenting in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts laws and the policies and procedures of the School District. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assess student's daily visits, evaluate health status and provides care according to Chelmsford Public Schools Standing orders. - Administers first-aid and emergency care. - Ensures confidentiality and protects privacy - Dispenses medications according to standard nursing practice to students at school with proper documentation of prescriber authorization and parental request. - Communicate with school personnel in identifying and meeting social, emotional, and physical needs of the students with disabilities. - Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe, learning environment by promoting Universal Precautions Qualifications: Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Registered Nurses (RN). Consideration will be given to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart Association). - Nursing experience in community or child health. Experience in pediatrics is preferred. - Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations. - Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with students, staff members, and parents and able to maintain confidentiality.
