Facilities Manager
Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Facilities Manager is responsible for leading all facilities activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures the plant, utilities, and infrastructure operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support production goals. The Facilities Manager drives and manages capital projects, ensures regulatory compliance, and partners closely with Operations, EHS, and Engineering to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all plant facilities and infrastructure, including buildings, grounds, utilities, and support systemsOversee maintenance of manufacturing-related facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, boilers, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systemsPartner with Operations and Engineering to troubleshoot facility-related issues impacting productionEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and local/state regulations, support internal and external auditsCollaborate with EHS to maintain a safe working environment and drive safety initiativesManage and evaluate contractors, service providers, and vendors; negotiate service agreements and control costsPrepare and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting capital expendituresLead capital improvement projects such as plant expansions, equipment installations, layout changes, and infrastructure upgradesMaintain building security, emergency response plans, and business continuity preparednessDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost reductionRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of facilities or maintenance management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong working knowledge of industrial building systems and plant utilitiesProven experience supporting production operations and minimizing downtimeExperience managing budgets, contractors, and capital projectsWorking knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and industrial safety standardsStrong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skillsProficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft OfficePreferred QualificationsExperience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Continuous Improvement methodologiesExperience supporting multi-shift or 24/7 manufacturing operationsFamiliarity with energy management and sustainability initiativesReasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
