About The DepartmentYou will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. Provide input, review & approve design & requirement specifications. Secure proper & efficient implementation & qualification. Support production & other stakeholders. Improve reliability of the process control systems to meet current & projected customer, business & regulatory requirements through focus on people & equipment, as well as serving as the gatekeeper for standards.RelationshipsReports to Manager, Senior Manager.Essential FunctionsDevelop & manage plans to maintain & improve process control systemsSupport & manage implementation of systems & interfacesSupport & manage corporate, product supply, PS, stakeholder & departmental initiatives/projectsSchedule & execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedulesOperate as automation lead on projects that involve process control systemsAssist with developing & managing budgets for maintaining & improving process control systemsDevelop & maintain automation standards, specifications & maintenance plansOwn self development & initiative to understand the site process control systemsAdhere to the automation standards & establish new automation standards when necessaryLead the site in establishing automation direction & strategy (hardware & software standards)Lead troubleshooting for automation-related downtimeFunction as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned areas/technologiesSupport audits & inspections as SME for process control systemsDemonstrate a thorough understanding of stakeholder managementCoach & train colleagues & stakeholders in relevant areas/develop training material when necessaryUtilize the appropriate cLEAN® tools when relevantManage assignments with a quality mindset that focuses on risk management & mitigationEnsure the quality of systems adheres to company standards; adhere to change management standardsParticipate in the development of new SOPs, best practices, and maintenance proceduresFollow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther accountabilities, as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in engineering related field of study from an accredited university requiredMinimum ten (10) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility &/or packaging systems requiredFor Logistics roles only: Minimum three (3) years of Warehouse automation equipment experience required (Automated storage and Retrieval Systems, Automated Guided vehicles, Autonomous Mobile Robots, and Conveyor systems)SAP EWM highly preferredExperience troubleshooting automation & control systems & batch processes requiredExperience working in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment requiredKnowledgeable in SCADA (i.e. iFix, Ignition, FactoryTalk), PLC & HMI (Rockwell/AB, Siemens, etc.), historian/data collections requiredProgramming & configuration of process control systems requiredWindows based operating systems & associated applications requiredSystem interfacing & integration & user access management requiredVirtual machines/environments (preferably VMWare) preferredKnowledgeable in Oracle, MS SQL preferredIT competencies to an understanding level: domain, networking, firewall, group policies/permissions, system backup & restore preferredKnowledgeable in MES (PAS-X, etc.); MS SQL, databases preferredProven expertise in planning/organization & project execution requiredStrong in following up on results & revising work plans requiredWe commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.At Novo Nordisk, we're not chasing quick fixes – we're creating lasting change for long-term health.
