Accounting Intern

Job Title: Accounting InternLocation: Houston, TexasJob Type: Internship | OnsiteIndustry: Logistics / Oil & Gas ManufacturingAbout the Role:AWC Indeed is seeking a detail oriented Accounting Intern to support general accounting operations with an emphasis on financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance support. This role will work closely with the internal accounting team and provide exposure to a variety of accounting functions, including audit preparation, sales tax review, and process improvement initiatives. The position is well suited for someone looking to gain hands on accounting experience in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Support preparation of schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting and audit related activitiesAssist with compiling and reconciling general ledger accounts including revenue, expenses, and balance sheet itemsCollaborate with cross functional teams such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations to gather and verify dataReview and organize sales and purchase transactions by jurisdiction to support sales tax reporting and complianceMaintain and update fixed asset schedules and supporting recordsAssist with identifying, researching, and resolving accounting discrepanciesSupport documentation, organization, and filing of accounting and compliance related materialsAssist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field or currently pursuing one0–1 years of accounting experienceAbility to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environmentPrior accounting internship or 1–2 years of relevant accounting experience preferredCompletion of Intermediate Accounting and or Advanced Auditing coursework preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic accounting toolsWhat We Offer:Paid internship with broad exposure to core accounting functionsHands on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance supportOpportunity to work closely with experienced accounting professionalsExposure to audit preparation without the role being limited solely to audit tasksProfessional development through real world accounting responsibilitiesCore Values:SafetyPeopleIntegrityQualityDedicationAWC Indeed is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
