PROTEIN SOURCES MILLING is seeking a hardworking, reliable individual interested in a rewarding career in agriculture and pork production.
SUMMARY:
The mill operator assistant maintains feed ingredients, processes feed orders, and provides general maintenance and record keeping.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily housekeeping of office and mill area
Maintains inventory of feed ingredients.
Operates forklift and other equipment safely.
Follows OSHA and FDA guidelines and that of other regulatory agencies to maintain accurate and appropriate records.
Provides friendly customer service.
Performs related activities as directed.
Manages personal self-development to prepare for new responsibilities and challenges in a changing environment.
Additionally, the mill operator must be able to work and make decisions independently and as part of a team.
REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience and knowledge of agriculture, feed ingredients, and the feed manufacturing process.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
Must be able to work and make decisions both independently and as part of a team.
Manages personal self-development to prepare for new responsibilities and challenges in a changing environment.
SUPERVISION:
This position does not supervise anyone.
WORK HOURS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and CONDITIONS
Primary shift will be 2nd shift, starting around 12:00 p.m. Availability for weekend work is required in times of high demand and unforeseen events to include things like snow days, break downs and customer needs (holiday make up). As much notice as possible will be provided. Second shift will include a $2/hour premium.
The mill assistant must also be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, grasp, grip, push, and pull various tools and equipment. Additionally, the mill assistant may be required to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds or more from time to time.
