General Statement of Duties:
Are you a Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionalist or wanting to become one? We will pay for your training course as well as pay you for your 40 hours of training, once you have received your certificate.
Come work for us...if your client is out for the day, you will not lose your shift. We will use your help and expertise to help support others in our program. Working part-time or full-time, you will not lose your hours.
You will be able to collaborate directly with the client's teachers and parents as you will be supporting your clients in an inclusive preschool classroom setting.
The ABA technician will play a crucial role in implementing behavior intervention plans, providing direct support, and collecting data on individual progress.
Working closely with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the ABA Technician will assist in developing and implementing strategies to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors within the classroom environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Teacher Qualified and must meet the minimum Oregon CCD licensing requirements. Step 8 in the Oregon State Registry is preferred. Must acquire 24 approved training hours annually. Must be registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry. Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
Must meet qualifications as a Registered Behavior Analysis Interventionist (RBAI) as per the State of Oregon or have completed the 40-hour BACB modules.
Must be fit for duty physically and mentally. Using proper lifting techniques must be able to lift and hold children up to 40 pounds in both standing and sitting positions. Willing and able to stoop, crawl, kneel and bend in order to play with children, to speak to children at the child’s eye level, pick up toys and equipment from the floor, and be able to evacuate children in case of an emergency.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Shows evidence of enthusiasm, flexibility, creativity, energy, concern for affect, ability to cooperate, to set limits and follow through on them, to relate to children and project a positive self-image. Willing to work within a team structure, be supportive, joyful and have fun!
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Be compassionate, patient, and have an understanding demeanor.
Responsibilities:
· Implement behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA
· Provide direct one-on-one support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
· Collect and analyze data to track individual progress and make data-driven decisions.
· Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
· Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to ensure consistent and effective implementation of interventions.
· Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress and address concerns.
· Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of sessions and progress reports.
· Attend regular supervision and training sessions to enhance professional development.
· Is aware of, and diligent in following all health and safety policies and state
regulations.
· Care for equipment and materials and is alert to good housekeeping.
To support the advancement of motor and intellectual competence
· Support, emerging literacy and language development in response to
each individual child’s interest through whole language experience.
· Support a curriculum that fosters the construction of mathematical
acknowledge through hands-on activities.
· Support the design and implementation of activities that foster the development of physical knowledge.
· Support the Lead Teacher in providing an integrated curriculum that meets
the needs of individual children.
· Support the use of equipment and material for play that promotes children’s fine and gross motor development.
To establish positive and productive relationships with families
· View each parent-teacher relationship as a partnership, focusing on each child’s individual strengths and abilities.
· Support planning and implement hands-on activities that develop self- esteem.
· Use and promote positive guidance techniques and a variety of creative
expressive activities approved by the Lead Teacher.
· Establishes and maintains relationship with parents and families of children in the group, so that parents feel comfortable discussing issues and concerns.
Essential Required Job Functions and Tasks:
· Maintains continuing positive dialogue with all staff regarding overall functioning of the room, and any other pertinent issues within the program.
· Contributes suitable ideas and suggestions to planning sessions for the children’s program in a positive and constructive manner.
· Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
· Have the ability to communicate ideas, concerns and feelings regarding the program and procedures to the appropriate person in a constructive manner.
· Must be open to feedback and supervision in a positive manner.
Benefits:
(Part-time) - $22.50/hour, paid time off, paid holidays, and paid trainings
(Full-time) - $22.50/hour, paid time off, paid holidays, paid trainings, full medical and dental insurance after review period, option to contribute to a simple IRA with up to a 6% match by employer.
Annual raises every July 1st. July 1, 2024 RBAI's increase to $23.85.
