Cost Analyst
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Analyze inventory in Washington plant to ensure costing is correct, with appropriate process initiatives, and provide regular inventory and costing related reports and analyses to management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and enforce inventory data quality standards, conducting regular audits and assessments
New part set up and maintenance of bill of materials within Navision
Order closing and scrap analysis
Responsible for monthly standard cost roll
Recommend and initiate improvements to inventory levels and turns
Maintain accurate inventory and customer information in Navision
Provide insights and recommendations for inventory turns based on data analysis
Variance and root cause analysis on inventory reporting to budget
Inventory error investigation and correction
Work closely with production to ensure substitutions, scrap rates and orders are being recorded and closed accurately and on-time
Work with Inventory Manager and IT to integrate data management practices into various business processes
Create, analyze and provide inventory and costing reports in Navision and Excel
Collaborate with inventory manager and procurement to review standard costing
Analyze current policies and procedures and make recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency of inventory management
Implement policies, objectives and initiatives related to inventory management outlined by Inventory Manager
Implement inventory tools and systems to track, analyze, audit and report on various inventory items
Manage and maintain stocking agreement documents and process,
Conduct regular review of obsolete inventory and make appropriate recommendations
Lead annual physical inventory count as well as periodic cycle counts
Ensure timely, accurate and effective data information in financial reports related to operational costs
Conduct regular cycle counts and review obsolete inventory
Key team member in annual inventory count
Provides feedback to operations managers on material costs
Make all appropriate inventory adjustment entries when necessary

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Must have minimum 2-4 years manufacturing environment experience in an analyst type position,
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with inventory management systems
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
Strong previous experience working with an MRP system, Navision would be an asset
Ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment
Excellent organization, problem solving, communication (oral and written)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/ TRAINING:
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance/accounting or related field preferred
Understanding of basic accounting and manufacturing principles
Knowledge of costing and inventory control principles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:
Plant/ Office Environment,
Ability to travel to other facilities as required, which may include international travel requiring a passport,
No significant material handling will be required, but regular visits to the plant floor and some product counting may be necessary.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
