Import/Export Specialist - Scientific Logistics & Hazmat Shipping

We supply CQV/validation and compliance-focused technical staff to support regulated manufacturing, laboratory, and supply chain operations.As an Import/Export Specialist, you will play a critical role in facilitating the compliant movement of scientific materials within a highly regulated environment, supporting the RSCR Group within Global Product Development & Supply/Global Quality.In this contract role, you will ensure seamless logistics for domestic and international shipments of reference standards, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to uphold regulatory standards and operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities IncludeSupporting domestic and international shipment logistics for regulated scientific materials.Preparing shipping documentation, including invoices and customs/regulatory paperwork.Coordinating international regulatory and customs requirements for shipments.Tracking shipments end-to-end, from document initiation through shipment greenlight and readiness.Coordinating outbound logistics with internal stakeholders and external partners such as freight forwarders, CROs, customs brokers, and vendors to ensure timely execution.Selecting appropriate shipping containers and packing methods, determining and maintaining temperature control and conditioning requirements, and applying proper packaging and handling techniques.Managing outbound logistics activities, including order consolidation, to support compliant distribution.Maintaining accurate shipping and logistics records and performing shipping data management using tools and systems.Collaborating with cross-functional teams (labs, project managers, QA) and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.RequirementsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentHazmat Shipping Certification (hazardous materials)Authorized to work in the United States1+ years of hands-on scientific shipping logistics experience (3–7 years preferred)Experience preparing shipping documentation, including invoices and customs/regulatory paperworkExperience coordinating international regulatory and customs requirements for shipmentsWorking knowledge of shipment preparation including container selection, temperature control/cold chain, conditioning requirements, packing and handling techniques, and order consolidationExperience supporting domestic and international shipments of scientific, pharmaceutical, biotech, laboratory, or regulated materialsExperience using data systems and tools for shipment tracking, inventory, or shipping/records management (e.g., Excel, LIMS, databases, or electronic documentation systems)Preferred QualificationsBS/BA/Masters in logistics, supply chain, or a related scientific/engineering disciplineExposure to regulated environments such as GMP or GLPBenefitsCompetitive hourly rate: $31.38 – $39.86/hr (W-2 only, no C2C)Working Hours: Monday - Friday, regular business hours12-month contract with possible extensionHealth Insurance, Holiday Pay, 401(k) Program, And Other BenefitsEmployee referral bonus program
