Shipping and Receiving

Role and Responsibilities The working shipping and receiving supervisor, oversees the shipment or receipt of outgoing or incoming parts and materials. Study shipping and receiving processes for effectiveness. Suggest improvements to distribution procedures, and act to improve timeliness or reduce costs. Document shipping or receiving information. Complete reports for management. Shipping & Receiving Job Duties: Shipping and Receiving Preparing and tracking all packing slips and bill of lading for outgoing Check in all incoming packing slips Organize and file all packing slips after completion Ensure jobs ship on time & accurately all the time Clean and organize shipping Communicate with customers to ensure shipping and receiving is on schedule. Scheduling trucks for Galvanizer and other job deliveries. Have all packing slips out to yard employee’s 2 days prior to shipping. Check all loads and take pictures of loads that are being shipped. Organization of inventory Separating and Labeling with job number. Sorting and organizing by job as it returns from galvanizer per bunker and label. Check and order all inventory for stock as needed. Shop Materials Set shops up a day ahead of time with materials. Assist in yard loading and unloading trucks. Purchase Orders Send purchase orders to project manager when material arrives. Overall Shipping & Receiving helps get material in the door and project out the door. This is an integral part of the Lax Fabricating team and an important link between our shop & our customers. Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school diploma, GED or equivalent. 6 months logistics, retail, or customer service experience. Forklift certification within 30 days of job entry date. Computer literacy and familiarity with inventory control. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of working with Microsoft office products. Ability to lift heavy boxes. Knowledge in safety regulations Familiarity with shipping carriers and incoterms. Ability to work with minimal supervision. If this opportunity excites you, we cant wait to hear from you!
