Maintenance Worker Part-Time
Part-Time Maintenance Worker The Southern Queens Parks Association is seeking two (2) customer service, detail-oriented individuals to join the team as part-time maintenance workers at the Roy Wilkins Recreation Center. This position is responsible for the upkeep of specific spaces within the Roy Wilkins Recreation Center. This person will work with SQPA's operations leadership to develop and improve maintenance routines and plans. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order within our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all. This position requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with an emphasis on both routine and occasional specialized cleaning tasks.Primary duties include the following:The physical ability to perform maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep of SQPA's work rooms, classrooms, gym, activity rooms, kitchen, bathrooms, hallways and administrative offices.Responsible for events set-ups and breakdowns.Serve as the communication point for the maintenance team (mostly via email)Maintain SQPA's tools and equipment to ensure that they remain in working condition.Monitor and remove all garbage from SQPA areas during the work shift.Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.Oversee the ordering and stocking of operating suppliesPerform regular maintenance inspections and record findingsFollow established safety protocols and procedures while performing all tasks.Other expectations include:Occasional trips to offsite locations and vendors.Ability to use equipment, including commercial vacuums, floor and carpet cleanersOccasional residential painting projectsFamiliarity with industrial cleaning practices and commercial cleaning standards.Minimum of one year experience preferred.'Checks' are required.Compensation and benefits:Part-time in-person role that will be paid $17 per hour (Opportunity for additional hours available)18-24 hours each weekShifts [Position 1]Forecasted hours: Mon - Fri 10:30am-2:30pm (2pm-6pm once per month, likely a Wednesday for team meetings)Shifts [Position 2]Forecasted hours: Sat - Sun 9am-5pmAbout UsEstablished in 1976, Southern Queens Park Association's mission is to coordinate and provide comprehensive programs for children, youth, adults, families, and seniors residing in Southern Queens.
