About the Role We are hiring Systems Engineers - Software Applications (I-V) to join our team in Mendon, Utah. This role serves as a technical specialist supporting the development of command-and-control software applications at the subsystems level. The Systems Engineer will work closely with Product Management, Solution/System Architects, and Software Developers to transform stakeholder requirements into structured system and subsystem requirements that guide the software design. The level of responsibility, complexity, and leadership involvement will scale based on the assigned level (I-V). Job Duties Systems Engineering & Requirements Management Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather, process, and track stakeholder goals and KPIs. Translate product goals and KPIs into detailed system requirements for command-and-control application features and functions. Develop and manage functional and non-functional software requirements, ensuring compliance with ISO, IEC, and functional safety regulations. Generate interface control documents to ensure proper interactions between different subsystems. Use Jama for requirements management and tracking system documentation. Software Applications & System Integration Work on low-level application development at the subsystems level. Support system integration test plans and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and production. Oversee and validate integrations using Windows-based software environments. Ensure compatibility between system components using REST APIs, gRPC, and MQTT (as applicable). Validation & Testing Ensure system requirements are validated through hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, simulations, and automated validation tools. Assist in the development and execution of FAT and SAT test plans. Identify and troubleshoot integration issues between on-board and off-board systems in a production-like environment. Communication & Process Management Communicate system requirements and updates via formal documentation, Agile sprint meetings, and Confluence. Participate in conceptual design discussions and design reviews to ensure traceability of requirements and compliance. Contribute to business development through proposal inputs, meetings, and presentations to potential customers. Travel as required (
