Senior Systems Engineer - Release & configuration

Senior Systems Engineer -Release & Configuration ManagementAbout the TeamWe are working with a cutting edge tech company, focused on robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics. The team is building fast, efficient, and reliable aerial delivery systems, combining advanced robotics, aviation engineering, and operational innovation to bring autonomous drone delivery to market at scale. About the RoleA Senior Systems Engineer focused on Release and Configuration Management to establish and maintain the processes that ensure their drone delivery platform is built, integrated, and deployed with full traceability and control. You will define configuration baselines, manage release workflows, and ensure that hardware, software, and firmware versions are tracked and coordinated across a rapidly iterating product. You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because...Define and maintain configuration management processes for a complex hardware-software system, including baseline identification, change control, and configuration status accounting.Establish and manage release workflows for integrated drone systems, coordinating across hardware, firmware, embedded software, and cloud/backend components.Implement and manage configuration management tooling (PLM, version control, requirements management) to support full lifecycle traceability from requirements through verification.Lead configuration control board (CCB) activities, including change request evaluation, impact assessment, and disposition.Develop and enforce configuration audit procedures (FCA/PCA) to ensure delivered systems match approved baselines.Collaborate with hardware, software, flight controls, and test teams to define release readiness criteria and manage system integration milestones.Drive process improvements to accelerate release cadence while maintaining configuration integrity and regulatory compliance. We’re Excited About You Because…A degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in configuration management, release engineering, or systems engineering for complex electromechanical or aerospace products.Strong understanding of CM principles (identification, control, status accounting, audit) per standards such as EIA-649 or equivalent.Experience with PLM tools (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Arena) and software version control systems (Git, etc.).Familiarity with change management processes, BOM management, and hardware-software co-versioning challenges.Experience supporting integration and test activities in a rapid-iteration development environment.Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines.
