Project Engineer

Project Engineer - Civil Construction Santa Rosa, CASalary: $75,000 - $95,000 plus Company Stock options, Gas Card, Car Allowance, Bonus, 401k and outstanding benefits We are seeking a Project Engineer to support underground utilities and paving projects with a well-established heavy civil contractor. This role partners closely with the Area Manager and field teams to drive project execution from pre-construction through close-out. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and looking to grow within a high-performing construction environment.What you will be doingSupport day-to-day project execution across underground and paving scopesManage RFIs, submittals, change requests, and project documentationAssist with construction planning, scheduling, and coordination with field teamsReview drawings/specs and help resolve design conflicts and constructability issuesTrack materials, deliveries, and ensure alignment with project timelinesParticipate in site inspections, QA/QC efforts, and safety complianceSupport cost control initiatives including value engineering and alternative methodsInterface with clients, vendors, and internal teams to keep projects movingAssist with project reporting, proposals, and close-out documentationWhat you bringBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field1–5+ years of experience in heavy civil, utilities, or paving projects preferredAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera or similar tools is a plusSolid communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyBasic understanding of construction methods, codes, and safety standardsValid driver’s license and ability to pass pre-employment screening
