Soc Analyst

*Title: IT Security Analyst/SOC Analyst* *Location: Hendon, VA (Onsite)* *Duration: 12 months (Temp to perm)* Ability to obtain a public trust clearance. SOC Analyst - Responsible for analyzing and/or administering security controls for information systems. Safeguards the network against unauthorized infiltration, modification, destruction or disclosure. Researches, evaluates, tests, recommends, communicates and implements new security software or devices. Implements, enforces, communicates and develops security policies or plans for data, software applications, hardware, and telecommunications. Manages the company's firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information. This is an operations center staff position that supports the Enterprise Security Operations Center (SOC). CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent certification preferred Must- Haves (Hard Skills) • Associates Degree and a minimum of 4 years related experience / BS/BA (or equivalent) degree in IT Security or related field, and a minimum of 2 years related experience or 2 years post-Secondary, and including: o Minimum of (1) years' experience in the Information Security field. o Minimum of (1) years' experience in the network engineering fields (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN). • Understanding of various Operating Systems (e.g Windows, Linux, etc.) • Understanding of system logs and be familiar with log analysis • Understanding of predominant cyber-attack vectors (Buffer Overflow, Phishing, etc.) Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: Up to $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Compensation Package: * Hourly pay * Weekly pay Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday Experience: * SOC Analyst: 3 years (Preferred) * Firewalls, Routers, Switches, VPN: 2 years (Preferred) * Information security: 2 years (Preferred) Work Location: On the road
