Jacksonville State UniversityAssistant Professor, Sports IndustryThe Department of Kinesiology in Jacksonville State University's College of Health Professions and Wellness invites applications for two Assistant Professor positions within the Sports Industry program.The Sports Industry Assistant Professors in the Department of Kinesiology, provide educational services to traditional and non-traditional students during the day or evening; teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Kinesiology, and may be required to teach courses within their concentration area on campus, off-campus, online courses and possible videoconferencing depending on need of locationThe Jacksonville State University College of Health Professions and Wellness was established to deliver a top-quality education for 21st century professionals to promote health and wellness in our communities, state, nation, and around the world. The departments of nursing, respiratory therapy, and kinesiology have developed undergraduate and graduate programs utilizing the latest evidence-based practices. It is our goal to prepare future leaders in health and wellness professions.Position RequirementsEarned doctorate in Sport Management or closely related field from an accredited institution (ABD candidates near completion will be considered)Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the university level.Evidence of a promising research agenda and scholarly publicationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsCommitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse academic environment.Preference may be given to those who possess the following.Experience with COSMA (Commission on Sport Management Accreditation) processes and standardsIndustry experience in sport management or related fieldsExpertise in one or more of the following areas: sport marketing, sport communication, sport finance, sport law, sport management, or sport analyticsExperience with online and hybrid course deliveryRecord of successful grant writing or external funding acquisitionApplicants must submit a cover letter, resume or CV, teaching philosophy and unofficial transcripts to be considered for the position.
