If you’re an Electrical Engineer early in your career and more curious about why things fail than just how they’re built — this might be your lane.Schaefer Engineering is growing its forensic team and is looking for an Electrical Engineer with 1–2 years of experience who wants to build a long-term career in forensic engineering.This is a learn-first, mentorship-driven role — designed for engineers who want hands-on experience, real-world exposure, and a clear path toward licensure.What You’ll DoAssist with forensic investigations involving electrical failures, fires, and loss eventsParticipate in field inspections, site visits, and evidence collectionSupport investigations from initial scene work through final reportingLearn forensic methodologies directly from senior engineers and licensed PEsPrepare clear, detailed technical documentationTake on increasing responsibility as you build skills and experienceWhat We’re Looking For1–2 years of professional experience in electrical engineeringBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited U.S. programStrong interest in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and investigative workWillingness to perform field-based work and travel regularlyInterest in building a long-term career in forensic engineeringLicensure Path (Important)You don’t need to have your EIT to start — but you do need to be committed to the process:Sit for the FE exam within 6 months of hireObtain EIT certification within 1 year of employmentCompany support provided along the wayPhysical & Field RequirementsThis is a hands-on role.
