Methods has more than 375 employees, nine technology centers, one high precision machining center, and has installed in excess of 40,000 machines throughout North America.We currently have the following career opportunity available in New England:Title: Applications Engineer - Hourly with Overtime payResponsibility: Assist in the design and development of manufacturing processes to achieve customer's goals and expectations on test cuts, training programs, product development, trade shows and turnkey applications using state of the art CNC machining equipment and secondary operations.Key Responsibilities:Prepare time studies and turnkey proposalsAssist in the integration of Engineering Services, such as machine tool and automation projectsManage the research and design of fixtures and toolingSupervise the modification of fixtures and tooling as requiredIdentify and purchase commercial itemsEnsure the programming of machinesEnsure the machine is prepared for customer runoffTravel to customer sites for support and turnkey runoffs. Overnight stays are required in some instances.Ensure that machines, work area and common work areas are maintained in a neat and professional mannerIdentify and understand customer requirements and concerns and come to mutually beneficial resolutionsKeep abreast of technological information that will provide leading technology to our customers, suppliers and assist others to resolve problemsLead development projects to enhance our products offeredShow an awareness of competitors and effectively identify gaps and benchmarksProvide phone support to customers, both internal and externalLog call details for future reference (Syteline Incidents)Track all time and purchases utilizing the ERP systemReport to management on any progress, delays or issues and provide an action plan to resolveGenerate and maintain documentation for each area of responsibility listed aboveMaintain industry standard risk assessment and safety protocols are followed in project development and buildAll other duties as required to support the team and organizationQualifications:General machining knowledgeKnowledge in math, geometry and trigonometryKnowledge of Geometric Dimension & Tolerance and Quality practicesAbility to use inspection tools such as indicators, micrometers, and CMM'sCAD / CAM knowledgeProficient in Microsoft Office Suite of productsAbility to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally within all levels of the organization and with customersAbility to make quick decisions in a fast paced and changing environmentAbility to lead effectively and with little or no supervisionBe results orientedAbility to set and meet both team and personal goalsAbility to solicit and accept feedback, implementing changes where necessaryAbility to manage a team effectivelyResolve conflict and issuesValid driver's license and passportEducation:College degree PreferredWorking Relationships:The Engineer will work closely with application engineering, production, sales, and management.ZR
