In the Proposal Manager - TxDOT position, you will provide leadership or support on a variety of business development assignments, ranging from proposals to qualification statements, with a priority on TxDOT pursuits. All members of our Geographic Sales Operations team are self-starters, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, develop creative solutions to tackle challenges, strive to be team players ready to support each other with a vested interest in the success of Jacobs.Our Proposal Managers will be responsible for the following key activities:Independently lead the End Game coordination and preparation of proposals of all sizes, working directly with technical staff with a priority focus on TxDOT pursuits. This role may also support large, strategic opportunities, working under the guidance of senior Sales staffLead and/or support planning and development of presentations and interviewsWith no supervision, coordinate, write, edit/tailor, and perform research for non-technical proposal sections; ensure compliance; proactively identify, communicate, and mitigate potential issues/variancesLead kick-off meetings and other milestone meetings, as appropriateParticipate in opportunity planning/Middle Game activitiesMay suggest teaming partners/subconsultants, as well as qualified Jacobs staff during kick-off/strategy sessions and organization chart developmentOffer an understanding of business objectives, priorities, and sales strategy, especially as they relate to the End Game proposal processServe as a subject matter expert on, advocate, and actively follow Sales Operations procedures, policies, protocols, and best practices, including standard file management and archiving procedures, as well as Branding GuidelinesEmploy and populate/update (as appropriate) business development-related tools and databasesFoster strong, mutually beneficial working relationships with Operations, other Sales Operations staff, Selling Units, and Sales Enablement teams both locally and across the networkIn addition, Proposal Managers are expected to demonstrate the following progressive skills in leadership, sales strategy, sales functions and processes, and Jacobs/industry acumen:LeadershipCoordinate/provide direction to graphic designers, document publishers, writers/editors, reprographics specialists, and other support staff, independently coordinate with and collect information from teaming partners and subconsultantsManage self and proposal team, monitoring progress and adherence to proposal scheduleSolve issues independently; identify and implement creative solutions to challenges; escalate to leadership as necessarySuccessfully guide, influence, and convince others with advanced communication and negotiation skillsSales StrategyLead a variety of business development assignments, ranging from proposals to qualification statements; support large, strategic, complex efforts under the guidance of senior Sales Operations staffSupport development of opportunity planning/Middle Game deliverablesParticipate in debrief meetings on completed proposals and apply lessons learned to future effortsSeek opportunities to enhance company image/brand on proposals and presentationsPossess understanding of objectives and services provided by the firmSales Functions and ProcessesDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills; possess effective active listening skillsUnderstand proposal time commitments and time managementPrioritize own and others' work to meet proposal/team deliverablesWrite and update project descriptions/summaries, success stories, and lessons learned, as well as resumes and other documents with little no supervisionPossess knowledge of and ability to perform contributing skills (including document publishing, editing, and reprographic standards) supporting application of best practicesOffer suggestions to leadership for improvements/additions and lessons learned to streamline processes, procedures, and tools/databasesPrepare and ensure compliant and timely proposal deliverables, including managing proposal process and schedule, and meeting client requirements; communicate issues/variancesBe accountable for QA/QC check of assigned proposals and proposal sections for self and support staffBring your curiosity, passion for innovation, and talent for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
