Nursing Home Biller

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Nursing Home Biller to join our healthcare administration team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes related to nursing home services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical coding, billing procedures, and electronic health record systems to facilitate efficient revenue cycle management. Responsibilities Prepare and submit accurate Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims. Review medical records and documentation to ensure all billing information is complete and compliant with regulatory requirements. Utilize EMR and EHR systems to input data, track claims status, and update patient records efficiently. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes to maximize reimbursement. Maintain detailed records of billing activities and ensure confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to verify coding accuracy and resolve billing discrepancies promptly. Stay current with updates in medical coding guidelines, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations affecting billing procedures. Skills Strong knowledge of medical billing practices and medical collection procedures. Experience with medical office operations and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems. Excellent understanding of medical terminology and medical records management. Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately for coding purposes. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently. Good communication skills for collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
