Purchasing Agent

At JW Hicks, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our growing team in Knox, Indiana. JW Hicks is looking for a capable, motivated Purchasing Agent. We have a passion to produce the best refractory products on the market and are seeking individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit and heart for "Doing it Right." Purchasing Agent Responsibilities: Order materials and services Manage purchasing information and systems Track receipts and evaluate supplier delivery performance Manage supplier relationships and service level agreements Administer purchasing contracts Monitor and manage raw material inventories Work with other departments to forecast required purchases Develop and maintain periodic reports as needed Perform other duties as requested by supervisor Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Effective interpersonal skills 2-3 years’ experience with above responsibilities Basic computer literacy and working knowledge of software programs commonly used in business Ability and willingness to learn Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to employment Preferred Qualifications Strong organizational skills ERP experience Experience with computer spreadsheets and databases Awareness of packaging and transportation regulations In our growing and expanding market, we are looking for someone who likes a challenge and has the drive, knowledge and experience to advance their career in this position.
