We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Database Engineer to join our growing healthcare SaaS organization in Nashville, TN. As a member of the Platform engineering team, the successful candidate will work on emerging technologies to enhance ProviderTrust's existing products and to develop innovative products and solutions.
Suggested Skills and Experience Ability to optimize database performance
Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora and PostgreSQL
Experience with blue/green deployments for database changes and upgrades
Experience with backup and recovery strategies using AWS Backup
Experience with logging and monitoring systems (Splunk, AWS CloudWatch)
Experience with Terraform creating databases and configuration.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (experience with GitHub Actions preferred)
Review access management (e.g. role based permissions)
Ability to assess security aspects of database (i.e. auditing, access)
The ability to work efficiently and lead yourself in a fluid environment
Strong interest in new technologies
Demonstrate a strong passion for success as well as strong work ethic
Duties and Responsibilities Optimize Database Performance: Proactively identify and implement performance enhancements, driving continuous improvement without the need for direct assignments.
Issue Ownership: Take full responsibility for database-related challenges, ensuring prompt resolution and thorough documentation of solutions.
Database Infrastructure Development: Design and enhance database infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency that align with platform requirements.
Security Management: Monitor and enforce best practices for database security, conducting regular audits and proactively addressing vulnerabilities.
Collaboration for Performance: Partner with engineering teams to boost database query performance by providing actionable insights and recommendations.
SLA Compliance and Uptime: Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and maintain high database uptime, accurately fulfilling requests within established timelines.
