Special Education Teacher
Responsibilities:
Leading a class of special education students with a maximum class size of 8.
Meeting students’ functional & social/behavioral needs in an integrated manner.
Providing ongoing orientation and training to additional classroom staff and consulting therapists.
Developing, managing, and implementing educational components of IEP, FAB-BIP, progress monitoring and related reports.
Developing and coordinating a relevant California standards-based curriculum for each student.
Maintaining educational records and completing required educational assessments for each student.
Working directly and cooperatively with other staff to coordinate all aspects of educational, social/emotional, behavioral, and pre-vocational programs for each student.
Communicating & meeting with parents and home care providers on a regular basis.
Preparing and coordinating student and classroom staff schedules as well as classroom management.
Assisting in interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, and supervising of additional classroom staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
California Special Education teaching credential (M/S) and strong behavior management skills.
One or more years of experience teaching students requiring special education/positive behavior intervention techniques.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Fingerprint clearance.
Clean California DMV record.
Ability to create a relevant academic and functional program that will help our students transition to a less restrictive environment.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
