Estimator

Full-time Estimator needed in Peabody, MA, salary range $80K-$85K, full benefits. Metal fabrication experience preferred. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project specifications, and supporting the sales and operations teams in securing profitable work. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project drawings, specifications, and bid documentsPrepare accurate material, labor, and production cost estimatesSolicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractorsCollaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to align scope and pricingIdentify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering optionsMaintain organized records of estimates, bids, and historical cost dataFollow up on submitted bids and track outcomesAssist in developing standardized estimating processes and toolsQualifications2–5+ years of estimating experience (metal fabrication, construction, or related industry preferred)Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and/or job shop methodsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprintsProficiency in Excel and estimating software (or willingness to learn)Strong analytical and math skillsExcellent attention to detail and time managementEffective communication and collaboration skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with sheet metal and or custom fabricationFamiliarity with ERP or project management systemsKnowledge of CAD tools
