Sr. Frontend-Leaning Full Stack Engineer (Angular)

WHAT YOU’LL DOViant’s customers use our Demand Side Platform (DSP) to plan, execute, and monitor digital advertising campaigns. The Platform team owns the user experience and supporting systems that power this product.As a Senior Engineer with a frontend focus, you will lead the development of complex, data-driven user interfaces in Angular, with a strong emphasis on state management, data flow, and performance at scale. You’ll work with large datasets and real-time campaign data, ensuring that the UI remains responsive, consistent, and accurate.You will collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering to build intuitive experiences, while also working with backend systems and data layers to ensure efficient data access and correctness.THE DAY-TO-DAYDesign, develop, and maintain scalable Angular applications using TypeScriptArchitect and implement robust state management solutions using RxJS, NgRx, or similar frameworksModel and manage complex client-side data flows, ensuring consistency across views and interactionsBuild data-intensive UI features such as dashboards, reporting tools, and campaign management workflowsWrite and optimize SQL queries to support application functionality, reporting, and debugging of data-related issuesPartner with backend engineers to ensure efficient API design and data contractsAnalyze and troubleshoot data discrepancies across frontend, APIs, and database layersOptimize frontend performance, especially around large datasets and real-time updatesBuild reusable UI components and shared frontend librariesWrite unit and end-to-end tests for both UI behavior and state logicParticipate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremoniesQualifications And Requirements5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong frontend focusDeep experience with Angular and TypeScriptStrong expertise in state management patterns, including RxJS and NgRxExperience building data-heavy, interactive applications (e.g., dashboards, analytics tools)Solid understanding of asynchronous data flows, event-driven architectures, and client-side data modelingProficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for application support, reporting, or debuggingExperience working with RESTful APIs and understanding backend data modelsStrong debugging skills across frontend, API, and database layersFamiliarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, etc.)Solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and responsive designNICE TO HAVE:Experience with backend technologies such as Java or GoFamiliarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and distributed systemsExperience with data visualization tools or librariesExposure to ETL processes or analytics pipelinesLIFE AT VIANTInvesting in our employee’s professional growth is important to us, but so is investing in their well-being.
