Assistant Manager - Affordable Housing

We're currently seeking an Assistant Manager to support operations at a senior affordable housing community in St. Petersburg, FL. This is a ground-floor opportunity at a newly acquired property that's in good shape, with no major turnaround. You'll be one of the first on-site hires helping establish the day-to-day rhythm, resident experience, and team culture. The ideal candidate brings assistant manager experience and a highly organized, positive approach. Affordable housing compliance experience is a strong plus, and may be required depending on hiring timing for the Community Manager role. You can start immediately and train at a nearby Tampa-area community until the St. Petersburg site comes online in late spring. If you'd like to be considered, please submit a resume for review. Responsibilities Support day-to-day property operations including leasing, resident relations, and office administration Assist with affordable housing compliance paperwork such as recertifications, RTAs, and housing authority documentation Help coordinate work orders and support a small on-site maintenance team Contribute to building site processes and a positive, service-focused culture during the acquisition transition Qualifications 1 year of assistant manager or similar onsite property management experience (multifamily) Affordable housing experience (Section 8, HUD, LIHTC) strongly preferred and may be required based on team timing Comfort working with senior residents and handling resident-facing situations with professionalism Highly organized, reliable, and able to stay positive and flexible when priorities shift Perks Total compensation range of $50,000 to $57,000 (base plus bonus potential), with top-end base of $55,000 and per-lease and renewal bonuses available Ability to start right away with training at a nearby Tampa-area community before the St. Petersburg site launches Full benefits package including all major insurance, 401k, and PTO Work for a nationwide company that can offer growth and stability High-autonomy role with the chance to help set the tone and culture at a newly acquired community
