Job Description
Our organization is currently looking for a full-time, board-eligible or certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist to become a part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Section within the Division of Hematology/Oncology and BMT. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong focus on diagnosing and treating patients with hematologic malignancies, as well as a passion for designing and conducting early-phase clinical trials. The role involves providing both inpatient and outpatient care at our Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD), along with engaging in teaching and participating in clinical and translational research.On average, the CCBD sees around 400 new oncology patients annually, with over 140 of these being diagnosed with hematologic malignancies. We also have active clinical and research initiatives in areas such as solid tumors, neuro-oncology, hematology, BMT/Cell Therapy, palliative care, and survivorship. The CCBD is a proud member of various national and international trial consortia, including COG, POETIC, TACL, the Histiocyte Society, and NACHO, and offers phase I and II industry-sponsored studies as well as investigator-initiated trials. Our ACGME-accredited pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship program accommodates three fellows each year. Additionally, we maintain a close collaborative relationship with our BMT & Cell Therapy program, which provides essential services for patients needing life-saving hematopoietic stem cell transplants and cellular therapies, including CAR-T cell treatments.Faculty members can take advantage of exceptional clinical and research opportunities in partnership with our three academic and clinical collaborators: the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Creighton University, and the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Ideal candidates should possess a keen interest in mentoring students and contributing to program development, demonstrate academic productivity, and hold board eligibility or certification from the American Board of Pediatrics in the subspecialty of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
