Lead Material Handler

Astronics AES in Redmond, WA is hiring a Lead Material Handler on First Shift! This lead position offers base pay plus an additional $3/hour for taking on lead responsibilities. Hours are Monday - Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.As a Lead Material Handler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring daily operations run smoothly by:Directing tasks and allocating responsibilities within the group to ensure deadlines are met consistently.Making real-time, urgent, and frequent decisions that directly impact the flow of business.Escalating and resolving unresolved work issues to keep the team moving forward efficiently.Take your material handling skills to the next level with this lead opportunity!JOB SUMMARYThe Material Handler will manually move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor in relation to managing materials for the production line.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Stock and distribute products and materials in inventory warehouses and manufacturing linesPackage and prepare products and merchandise for the shipping clerk.Prepare and maintain records of items shipped (i.e. purchase orders, manual shippers, and work orders)Perform daily cycle countsPeriodically rotate in RECEIVING for cross trainingMay drive a non-CDL box truck for deliveriesOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalentDemonstrates familiarity of job duties (typically 1-2 years of direct experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position)Technical Skills:Data base user interface and query softwareElectronic mail softwareEnterprise resource planning ERP softwareInventory management softwareSpreadsheet softwareLabel making softwareMaterials requirements planning logistics and supply chain softwareWork Environment:Manufacturing environmentTime PressureOperating a forklift, pallet jack and/or manlift operatorStanding for long periods of timeLifting heavy (typically 30 lbs) itemsELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSAs a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.Salary is $18.46 - $24.97 per hour, dependent on experience. Mid-point is $21.72. Lead pay adds an additional $3/hour.
