Teen Extreme Camp Director

Accepting applicants for TEEN EXTREME CAMP DIRECTOR with the City of Lewiston's Recreation Department. Applications are available from the Human Resources Department or online at www.lewistonmaine.gov. GENERAL INFORMATION: Barg. Unit: Non-Union Status: Temporary (seasonal, June-August) Schedule: Mon. - Fri. 40 hours/week, Day shift Pay Range: $17.00-$20.00/hour, based on experience REQUIREMENTS: Experience working at summer camp or schools, specifically middle school, is required. Should have an understanding of age-appropriate programming, behavior management and social needs. Patience, creativity, understanding and a flexible approach are a must! Should be a positive mentor and enjoy working with people of all ages. WORK ACTIVITIES: Oversee summer camp for youth in grades 6, 7 and 8; including field trips, activities and special events. Assist recreation staff in developing fun programming for a 7-week summer day camp. Communicate with parents, staff, campers and supervisor throughout the day. Help with paperwork, accident reports, and assist with holding staff accountable.
