Logistics Technician
The Logistics Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of logistics and supply chain activities within AgCertain.Responsibilities And DutiesOperate safely and appropriately in all AgCertain situations and environmentsLoad/unload trucks, railcars, totes/containers in accordance with company standards Ability to climb and work at elevation onto semi-tractor trailers and railcars in inclement weather from very cold to very hot ambient temperaturesProperly document shipping and receiving logs/files/records for every shipment Conduct initial lab analysis on inbound product to ensure it meets quality standardsVerify freight bills Prepare/review – packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentationAssist in maintaining the cleanliness of the tank farm and trucking bay Receive parts and supplies for plant/office; properly file for inventory records Enter customer data into data management system as requiredAccept and facilitate customer sample requestsOperate material handling equipment safely (forklifts, telehandler, pallet jacks)Operate company vehicles safely (box truck) Wear proper PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed shoes) Utilize safety harness/fall arrest system when required by company policy Cross train with productionAssist with plant operations/maintenance when required Properly package products and prepare products for shipping in accordance with all relevant regulations and shipping industry standardsReceive after hours calls to facilitate operations and respond accordingly Comply with all company food safety and occupational safety requirementsMaintain a clean, food-safe and occupationally safe truck bay Participate in company trainingsPerform all other duties as assignedCustomer Service ResponsibilitiesAnswer the phone professionally and politely Communicate with customer/shipping company representatives by emailProvide documentation to customers as needed Perform in all ways with appropriate AgCertain brand and communication standards QualificationsA high school diploma or GED equivalent level certification with proven reading, writing, clearly legible handwriting, computer, inter-personal communication and mathematics skillsPhysical abilities to include the ability to lift 75 lbs (34 Kg), ability to spend 8+ hours on feet and/or standing in placeMust have a valid driver’s license and be able to attain a chauffer’s licenseProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong troubleshooting skills and attention to detailStrong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate internally and externally with customers and vendorsAct with humility, honesty, integrity, and a commitment to safetyAbide by Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of the facility
