Project Engineer III
Description of Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): Assists project manager in planning to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget Works with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems Assists in coordinating the delivery of supplier components in a timely and cost effective manner Performs mechanical engineering functions to configure turnkey systems, including detail designs for components to be manufactured Is a key user of SAP, responsible for the procurement of all purchased materials, parts, supplies, equipment and services, generating engineering data in material masters and bill of materials in SAP Investigates all new developments relative to material and supplies and implements procedures designed to reduce costs and improve quality Assists in reviewing project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project Assists Service and Applications Engineers in the field with questions and concerns while at customers Works to resolve open issues on projects through receipt of final payment Maintains technical information database for product groups Responsible for mechanical systems document control (ex: manuals, parts list and drawings) for the project Initiates shipping and transportation of goods to and from customers and suppliers Interfaces with equipment suppliers regarding project requirements and schedules Assists customers with all technical aspects of machine repair via phone support as required by the Service group Coordinates the information exchange between customer, RSM and internal groups Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc.): Bachelor's degree and minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical blueprint reading and trouble shooting skills Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD programs Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Scheduler Experience in customer relations; communicating with and solving customer problems Hands-on experience in machining, machine assembly, repair and operation of machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics Preferred Qualifications (Certificates, Training, Licenses, and Experience): Ability to read electrical schematics, and understand wiring of machine tools Understand mechanical measurements and inspection methods Ability to conduct business in the German language Other (Supervisory Responsibilities, Physical Demands, Working Conditions, Travel): May assist customers with machine repair technical support as requested by the Customer Care group Employee may be trained in safe crane and fork truck operations The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles and moderate noise level Occasional overnight domestic and international travel may be required Core Competencies: Job Knowledge Initiative Decision Making Problem Solving Adaptability Time Management and Productivity Quality Communication Customer Service Results Driven United Grinding North America, Inc. is a committed employer of EOE, including Disability/Vets
