Role SummaryThe Antivirals Field Medical, Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise for the designated therapeutic area across a broad range of external medical stakeholders ("EMS") and initiatives in an assigned territory (typically comprised of one or more U.S. states).Role ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute independent Medical strategy and engagement for appropriate assigned external medical stakeholders within a territory, coordinating with other Pfizer colleagues as needed to achieve Medical objectives.Maintain required knowledge of relevant TA/disease states and Pfizer medicines, providing therapeutic area/product information to internal and external stakeholders.Serve as a conduit and resource for Medical Information and external medical stakeholder insights, providing requested information as allowed by Pfizer guidance and sharing stakeholder viewpoints with Pfizer.Understand the priorities of Pfizer Medical Affairs to contribute to medical educational content strategy development and execute aligned Field Medical tactics.Maintain effective collaboration among headquarters Medical colleagues, Medical Information, and other Pfizer Field Medical colleagues.Demonstrate expertise in scientific communication across multiple channels, including live and virtual presentations, written communication, and telephone or virtual conversations.Optimize patient care improvements in Medical communications, incorporating Health Literacy and cultural awareness principles to keep patients central.Conduct all activities in accordance with policies, procedures, and compliance guidance.Educate external medical stakeholders based on patient care gaps and aligned to medical strategy, enhancing understanding of disease state and guideline-based care to improve overall patient care.Achieve leadership-defined expectations regarding the number of external medical stakeholders engaged.Field Medical Role ResponsibilitiesDeliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area.Provide education on the clinical and economic impact of Pfizer to inform external stakeholder decision-making and improve population health through real‐world data analyses, pharmacoeconomic analyses, outcomes evaluations, and medical presentations.Offer objective, scientifically sound medical information regarding Pfizer's medicines and the diseases they prevent using pharmacoeconomic models, outcomes tools, educational programs, Health Outcomes Projects and Evaluations (HOPEs), non‐interventional studies, and collaborations.Execute mutually beneficial projects, collaborations, strategic medical patient care projects, and non‐interventional studies in compliance with Pfizer guidelines.Serve as the Medical lead for assigned EMS, developing and executing a Medical account plan, sharing insights with Pfizer, and identifying collaboration opportunities to improve patient care.Engage key stakeholders (e.g., Quality Improvement Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Coalitions, medical/healthcare associations) to understand their priorities and align opportunities with Pfizer's independent Medical objectives.Collaborate with internal Pfizer colleagues (Key Account Managers, Account Directors, PHI, Field Medical, Headquarters Medical, and HEOR) to understand data analysis needs.Identify priority EMS segments for medical engagement, provide truthful, accurate, scientifically supported information in response to unsolicited requests, and comply with all applicable guidelines.Lead advisory boards and related activities with manager oversight.Field relevant inbound queries from EMS via established triage processes.Partner with Vaccines & Antivirals R&D and Global Product Development to identify sites for Pfizer‐sponsored clinical trials, with emphasis on under‐represented populations.Provide Medical support throughout the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) process.Cultivate therapeutic area expertise, including congress data and disease literature.Understand study design, methodology, data analysis, and interpretation, and communicate these concepts to stakeholders.Lead strong territory engagement and collaborate with local Patient Advocacy Groups in partnership with Corporate Affairs and HQ Medical Affairs.Deliver insights on local patient organization structure and population needs.Serve on Medical and/or TA and asset cross‐functional committees when appropriate.Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs leadership with professional societies, demonstrating medical professionalism.Mentor onboarding partners, advisory board members, and study leads.Participate in special projects as needed.Basic QualificationsMD or DO degree required.4+ years of relevant experience, including any of: hospital therapies, outcomes, epidemiology; clinical/formulary/management; managed care, payer, organized customer, pharmaceutical industry; quality improvement; or subject matter expert in vaccines and/or antivirals recognized across stakeholders.Demonstrated breadth of diverse leadership experiences, influencing and collaborating with peers, coaching others, and creating business impact.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to respond to stakeholder demands and manage conflict constructively.Experience managing significant project volume remotely while prioritizing and demonstrating judgment in a continuous improvement environment.Ability to work in a matrixed, multi‐disciplinary team; effectively lead change in a dynamic healthcare environment; adapt decisively to new opportunities and organizational change.Strong problem‐solving and networking across enterprise to identify solutions.Self‐starter with urgency to deliver medically impactful results and positive stakeholder experience.Self‐awareness and consistent professional growth.Clinical and technical skills, rapid adoption of digital technology, and record‐keeping of medical interactions.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with internal/external SOPs/Rules/Regulations regarding Pfizer‐ESM interactions.Previous Field Medical experience.Experience with health information technology in the U.S., including EHR optimization/customization and clinical solutions.Knowledge of U.S. healthcare system business environment and emerging trends.Non‐Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment RequirementsOperate a Pfizer company car and fly 40‐50% of the time for stakeholder meetings and HQ travel;
